An honor to be given one last Koterri. Thank you, Tenkaippin, for all the years of delicious food and hospitality. Short version-This place is special to me and I'm gonna miss it Long version - I saved up to eat here as a young man struggling in Honolulu. I came back after college and didn't have a lot of great job prospects. I had a job washing dishes far from where I was living. Late nights, long hours and little money. Eating Koterri ramen was a treat. Then I learned that in the kitchen, leading the charge was a Marshallese man who lived on the West side. Here was an example of Micronesian excellence. Working hard with a smile even though I had a smaller version of how difficult his actual experience was. I got a better job and would still go for my fix (it's habit forming). I brought many friends and family through the years. I always got great service and really good food. More things changed, I did a lot growing up and it seemed like Tenkas was a familiar constant. I'm really grateful. It's one thing to be fed well, it's more to be treated well too. Thank you for feeding me--stomach, heart, and soul.

Pretty good ramen but expect difficulty calling the waiter (1 person show here). Logistics: -free parking lot in the back -they have AC so you can have ramen all year long -accepts card Dishes: -Miso ramen: very good w/decent Amt -cabbage salad: uses a vinegar dressing

Tenkaippin will always be my happy place. Nothing saddens me more than to see them go. My ramen lovin' heart is broken. Went in for a final goodbye and it was so nice to see the restaurant busy and full of life. Thank you for taking care of me all of these years and for nourishing my soul with your amazing ramen made with so much love & care! You will forever be missed ;(

I wouldn't go out out of my way to come here, but if you are craving Ramen, it's a pretty solid spot! Came at around 7:30pm on a Monday night and it was pretty empty. There is a free parking lot around the corner where Jamba Juice is at. Was greeted right as we walked in. Our waitress was really upbeat and friendly. Food came out really quick. FRIED CHICKEN - got a 3 pc fried chicken as part of a combo. It's delicious and juicy. A great appetizer to munch on before the ramen arrives GYOZA - you can get gyoza as part of a combo or on its own as an appetizer. You can mix your own sauce using soy sauce, vinegar, and sesame oil. Unfortunately wasn't my favorite and pretty unforgettable. think it was just lacking flavor. SPICY F****** TENKAIPPIN RAMEN - not listed on the main menu. They have some specials on the table and this was on of them. It doesn't come with many toppings - just some spicy minced meat (I assume pork), kimchee, and green onions. I added egg and chashu on mine (both really good!). The ramen itself is definitely spicy (a little spicier than the Spicy Shin instant ramen). I personally think this ramen had more flavor than the Black Tonkatsu. If you get a chance, mix both the broth from this Spicy Ramen and the Blank Tonkatsu! Flavor explosion right there!
